At Your Wished Guide, privacy isn't a checkbox — it's how we build trust between travelers and local experts. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, and how you can stay in control.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign up for Your Wished Guide, we collect your name, email, and role (traveler or guide). When you book a tour, we collect trip details, payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we never store card numbers), and any messages you exchange with your guide. We also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device info to help us keep the platform secure.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to (a) match you with the right guide, (b) process and confirm bookings, (c) facilitate in-app chat between travelers and guides, (d) send you booking updates and receipts, and (e) improve our platform. We do not sell your data. Ever.
3. Sharing With Third Parties
Your data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Resend (transactional emails). Each provider is bound by strict data protection agreements. Guides see only the information needed to prepare your tour — name, language, services, and trip details.
4. Your Rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time from your dashboard. You can also request a full export of your data, or ask us to permanently delete your account. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@yourwishedguide.com.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records and receipts are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations. After account deletion, personal data is anonymized within 30 days.
7. Children
Your Wished Guide is not intended for users under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any material change to this policy. The current version is always available at /privacy on our website.
