Business Description
Online marketplace connecting travelers with verified, independent local tour guides across Japan. YWG facilitates discovery, booking and payment; guides operate as independent professionals responsible for the tours they deliver.
Products & Services Sold
(1) Booking of guided tour services (per day, per hour, or custom multi-day itineraries) provided by independent verified guides. (2) Optional subscription plans for guides (Pro / Elite) and travelers (Plus) granting access to premium platform features. (3) Featured-placement boosts for guide profiles.
Pricing
Guide tour rates are set independently by each guide and displayed clearly on every guide profile and at checkout (typical range $50–$500 USD per day). A 9% platform service fee is added on top of the guide rate at checkout (5% for Elite-tier guides). All prices and fees are shown in full before the traveler confirms and pays.
Additional Fees
No hidden charges. All taxes, platform fees and, where applicable, currency-conversion charges are shown on the final booking summary before payment. The traveler is responsible for any third-party costs explicitly listed on the guide profile (entrance tickets, transportation, meals) unless the guide has included them in the tour rate.
Accepted Payment Methods
Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners) processed securely by Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported on compatible devices.
Payment Timing
Payment is charged at the moment the traveler confirms a booking after the guide has accepted the request. No charge is made while a request is pending guide acceptance.
Service Delivery Time
Tours are delivered on the date and time chosen by the traveler at booking. Digital confirmations (email receipt and itinerary) are sent within a few minutes of successful payment.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
7+ days before the tour date: 100% refund. 3–6 days before: 50% refund. 1–2 days before: 25% refund. Same-day cancellation: no refund. Cancellations made before payment (pending or accepted status) are always free. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days via Stripe. Returns / Exchange
As tour services are delivered on a specific date, returns are not applicable. Cancellation before the tour date follows the refund policy above. If a guide fails to deliver the booked tour or the tour materially differs from the booking description, the traveler is entitled to a full refund by contacting support@yourwishedguide.com within 7 days of the scheduled tour.
Required Operating Environment
A modern web browser (latest Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge) with JavaScript enabled, or the official Your Wished Guide iOS / Android app. A stable internet connection is required to browse guides, book, and communicate.
Currency
Primary display currency: USD (US Dollar). Charges are processed in USD. Travelers paying with non-USD cards may be charged a currency-conversion fee by their bank.
